Our paper J.Wen, L.Lu, G.Casale, E.Smirni “Less can be More: micro-Managing VMs in Amazon EC2” has been accepted for IEEE CLOUD 2015. The paper presents a performance characterization of t1.micro VMs on Amazon EC2. The paper also examines the cost-performance trade-offs of t1.micro and proposes an algorithm for managing long running applications in spite of capacity stealing by the provider.
