PhD Student

Short bio. Alim is currently doing his PhD. at Imperial College London, under the supervision of Dr. Giuliano Casale. He completed M.Sc. in Software Engineering from Institute of Information
Technology (IIT), University of Dhaka (DU), with thesis on Adaptive Software Performance Testing. He received his bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (major in software engineering) from the same institute. His current research focuses on software performance engineering using stochastic process modeling and machine learning.
Thesis abstract. Due to its synergy with DevOps, microservices are quickly getting adopted in different software development companies. However, microservices introduce a lot of performance engineering challenges due to its unique architectural pattern. Besides, there are challenges involving reliability due to the highly distributed nature of microservices. Therefore, for microservices, rather than only focusing on performance, we must consider both performance and reliability. My current research focuses on different performance and reliability aspect of microservices.
